I don't see why you would need drivers for the backlit keyboard to work.Īnd I say this becasue I have a backlit keyboard for my desktop PC and I don't use any driver for it. So my question is this: If I do a fresh install of Win7 will it download the appropriate drivers for the backlit keyboard and 'media buttons'? I have looked on Toshiba's website and cannot find any driver related to the keyboard or media button functions. The problem is one of the reasons my wife chose this laptop is because of the backlit keyboard. So instead of going through the hassle of deleting all of these programs manually, I have a retail copy of Win7 and just want to do a fresh install. Then I notice in msconfig that there are approximately 15 programs running that are related to 'Toshiba utilities', which most are worthless bloatware in my experience. So here's the deal, I just bought my wife a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite i5) and right out of the box it runs rather slow.
